1. Philadelphia 76ers | Markelle Fultz, PG | Fultz has been the consensus #1 pick for a while, it won’t change on draft day. |
2. LA Lakers | Lonzo Ball, PG | With D’Angelo Russell being traded to the Nets, it looks as though the Lakers will be handing the offense to Ball. Congrats Lavar. |
3. Boston Celtics | Jayson Tatum, SF | I think Tatum fits more of Celtics needs. They already have many defense-first type players, Tatum gives them a pure scorer. |
4. Phoenix Suns | Josh Jackson, SF | Devin Booker can take the offense, while Jackson can take the defense. I like the Suns future with lots of young talent on the roster. |
5. Sacramento Kings | De’Aaron Fox, PG | It would surprise me if Fox slipped past the Kings. They love him and were thinking about trading up for him a couple weeks ago. |
6.Orlando Magic | Dennis Smith Jr., PG | Elfrid Payton is not the answer at PG, if I were the Magic I’d take a shot on Smith, who would surprise no one if he is the most talented player in this draft. |
7. Minnesota Timberwolves | Jonathan Isaac, SF | I’m keeping Isaac here. I still think the fit is perfect with him next to Towns and makes a young Twolves team scary in the future. |
8. New York Knicks | Malik Monk, PG/SG | I don’t see Monk slipping past the Knicks here, and it would be amazing to watch him light up MSG every night. |
9. Dallas Mavericks | Frank Ntilikina, PG | Dallas needs a long PG who can defend and Frank can do just that. Hard to tell how his game will translate to NBA from Europe. |
10. Sacramento Kings | Lauri Markkanen, PF | Another PF…ugh, just don’t know what else you would go with here instead of a big man. Markkanen can become a great talent for them but he must learn to defend and rebound better. |
11. Charlotte Hornets | Luke Kennard, SG | I had the Hornets getting a frontvourt player but after their acquisition of Howard, Kennard would give them a lights out scorer for Kemba to play off of |
12. Detroit Pistons | Donovan Mitchell, SG | Mitchell fits the Detroit vibe of a hard worker and grinder on defense. He could develop into a very good player. |
13. Denver Nuggets | John Collins, PF | The Nuggets have a pretty good roster right now, but Collins would be a good addition to put beside Jokic. |
14. Miami Heat | Justin Jackson, SF | I’m leaving Jackson here because I think the Heat need a SF who can shooter better than Winslow. |
15. Portland Trailblazers | Zach Collins, C | The Trailblazers need a frontcourt badly, and Collins showed off his value in the Final Four. Hopefully he can continue that success in the pros. |
16. Chicago Bulls | Jarrett Allen, C | He became a star for Texas at the end of the season. He could easily compete for the starting position against Robin Lopez. |
17. Milwaukee Bucks | Bam Adebayo, C | The Bucks like their long, athletic players. Bam is that and already built like veteran. It would be exciting to watch him run the break with the Greek Freak. |
18. Indiana Pacers | O.G. Anunoby, SF/PF | With PG13 wanting to leave they should probably go for depth at the SF position. O.G. could turn into a great player if he sharpens his offensive game. |
19. Atlanta Hawks | Harry Giles, PF | With Howard being dealt to the Hornets and rumors that Millsap is on the trade block, why not try to hit a homerun with the former #1 recruit? |
20. Portland Trailblazers | T.J. Leaf, PF | Keeping Leaf here. I think he will be very good. He’s athletic and can space the floor for Lillard, he just had to get stronger. |
21. OKC Thunder | Justin Patton, C | The Thunder need a consistent inside prescence. Patton may take a couple years to develop but with his athelticism, he can become special. |
22. Brooklyn Nets | Terrance Ferguson, SG | I still think the Nets go with Ferguson here. I think his potential is high and they could do well with a Russell-Ferguson backcourt. |
23. Toronto Raptors | Frank Jackson, G | With Kyle Lowry most likely going somewhere else, I think Toronto bites early on Jackson. He needs to develop his PG skills but I think he could become a great scorer in the league. |
24. Utah Jazz | D.J. Wilson, PF | Wilson stays here. I think he will fit in well beside Gobert and gives Utah more space if he can hit jumpers. |
25. Orlando Magic | Semi Ojeleye, SF | I still think this would a great pick for the Magic. He would be a steal for them this late, and he could turn into a very capable role player. |
26. Portland Trailblazers | Isaiah Hartenstein, PF/C | The Blazers backcourt is set. They need to take as many big men as possible, and Hartenstein gives you a different tpe of big man. |
27. LA Lakers | Tyler Lyndon, SF/PF | He can become a spot-up 4 for the Lakers. Don’t know how well his defensive abilities are as he was in the 2-3 zone at Syracuse. |
28. LA Lakers | Ivan Rabb, PF | Can play the role of Julis Randle if he is moved for PG13. |
29. San Antonio Spurs | Derrick White, PG | Very smart PG; I heard those workout well in SA. May be able to give them depth since lots of Spurs are reaching old age. |
30. Utah Jazz | Caleb Swanigan, PF/C | Very good rebounder and a man in college basketball. He has questions with his defensive skills but Gobert may be able to help out on that side of the ball. |
